Medeama to host Champions League matches in Tarkwa
Medeama SC have secured the Tarkwa and Aboso (TnA) Stadium as the venue for their 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Preliminary Round fixtures, following the Confederation of African Football’s decision to award the ground Category 2 Stadium Approval.
The development represents a historic first for Tarkwa and the Western Region, bringing continental club football to the town. It gives the Mauve and Yellow the chance to play in front of their own supporters as they aim to progress into the group phase of Africa’s top club competition.
CAF inspectors carried out a detailed assessment of the facility and confirmed that it satisfies the necessary criteria. As a result, the TnA Stadium is now authorised to stage CAF Youth and Women’s National Team qualifiers in addition to Preliminary Round matches in the interclub competitions.
The certification not only strengthens Medeama’s continental campaign but also underlines Ghana’s ongoing commitment to improving football infrastructure and its readiness to host CAF events.
With home advantage confirmed, Medeama will look to draw on the energy of their fans as they embark on another campaign in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
