Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has been named the Best Player of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season after an outstanding campaign that combined domestic consistency with international recognition.

The Ghana international was a commanding presence between the posts, recording 12 clean sheets and playing a central role in Hearts of Oak posting the league’s best defensive record. His reliability helped the Phobians finish a solid third.

Asare’s form also earned him a place in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, where he produced several notable performances, including a clean-sheet display against England.

In recognition of his achievements, he will receive a brand-new JAC Motors vehicle valued at $38,000. The award was announced at the Ghana Football Association’s 32nd Ordinary Congress in Prampram on Thursday.
