    REPORT: AshGold 1-0 Ebusua Dwarfs

AshGold SC returned to winning ways after a recent poor run as they downed Ebusua Dwarfs at home by a slim margin.

Defender Samed Ibrahim who was making his first start of the season scored the only goal of the game in the second half to secure maximum points for the Miners who had new coach Kasim Gökyildiz making his home bow. The Turkish tactician made four changes to last week’s lineup with Samed Ibrahim, Appiah McCarthy and Benedict Damlen Wobenu earning slots in the starting eleven.

Abdul Latif Anabila also returned to the starting pack after serving suspension as he came in for Razak Simpson.

Dwarfs Coach Ernest Thompson Quartey made to changes to his starting lineup with Simon Martey and Osman Mohammed replacing Jacob Ampratwum and Amos Korankye.

Dwarfs goalkeeper Razak Issah was certainly the busiest person on the pitch as his saves in the first half kept AshGold at bay.

Subsequent denials from Issah frustrated Ashgold and kept the score-line at 0-0 at half time.

Back from recess, the Dwarfs stopper once again made a crucial save to deny AshGold following a 52nd minute free kick from Appiah McCarthy. A 66th minute Abdul Anabila’s shot from the edge of the box was once again saved by Issah Razak.

After more work from the hosts, they got rewarded after central defender Samed Ibrahim broke the deadlock.

Dwarfs who had mostly played the game on the back foot now came all out rallying for an equalizer. Their attacking efforts were however thwarted by saves from AshGold shot stopper Frank Boateng

The Miners held on and finished victors after 90 minutes. The win moves them to 4th on the table with 13 points.

The Miners will face Hearts of Oak in the next while Dwarfs who sit lie in the bottom places will host Aduana Stars in Cape Coast on Wednesday during Match Week 8.
