Bright Adjei scores as Aduana beat Hearts in Dormaa
The season started with Olympics picking all three points against Bechem but the most anticipated game of the match week was between Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.
A tight and keenly contested first half ended in a stalemate between the two giants of Ghana football and did not fail to excite spectators at the grounds and those that watched in the comfort of their homes.
Hearts of Oak were looking forward to breaking their Dormaa Ahenkroo hoodoo to try and get one of Aduana in the Premier League but in the end, it wasn’t meant to be for them as they trek back to the City with their tail firmly placed in-between their legs yet again.
Bright Adjei’s second-half goal with just 4 minutes of action was enough to hand Aduana all three maximum points in their season campaign opener as their head coach Paa Kwesi Fabian begins his second stint at the dugout for the club.
A result that would be hard to accept by the technical team of the visitors as they matched the home side squarely and had a couple of decent chances which they failed to make it count - but on the other hand, it was a positive display from them something that they can build on going forward.
To make the result worse, Caleb Amankwah was handed his second yellow card of the game to receive the matching orders from referee Mohammed Misbau.
Hearts of Oak are yet to pick a win at the Agyeman Badu Park since Aduana gained promotion to play in the top flight, the ground that has been a Waterloo for the Phobians.
It was the visitors that had the best of possession but they failed to make it count - they were hard down by when left-back, Dennis Korsah came close to scoring but was denied by the crossbar.
After the goal, Hearts of Oak’s bench tried different approaches and personnel but were unable to get the equaliser as they succumbed to yet another defeat at the hands of the Ogya Boys.
