GFA partners Adesa Production for Premier League production and marketing

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Adesa Productions, a leading media company, in a deal set to revolutionise the broadcasting and commercialisation of the Ghana Premier League. The landmark agreement, unveiled at a ceremony in Accra, promises to elevate the league’s visibility, fan engagement, and financial viability, marking a new era for Ghanaian football.

The partnership comes at a time when the league has been seeking innovative ways to enhance its appeal and financial sustainability. Under the terms of the deal, Adesa Productions will take charge of the GPL’s broadcasting rights, producing high-quality live matches, highlights, and exclusive content for both local and international audiences. The partnership is set to deliver an immersive viewing experience. Fans can expect multi-angle camera coverage, in-depth analysis, and behind-the-scenes access to players and clubs in the upcoming season.

“This partnership is a game-changer for Ghanaian football,” said GFA President Kurt Okraku at the signing event. “Together, we aim to make the Ghana Premier League a household name across Africa and beyond, while creating sustainable revenue streams for our clubs.”Adesa Productions will also spearhead the commercialisation of the GPL. Before the start of the season, each Premier League club will receive an amount of One Million Ghana cedis (GHÇ 1M)

"This is not a grant. This is not just a number - it is a commitment to club transformation," Simeon-Okraku emphasised. "It is the difference between delayed salaries and timely payments; between outdated medical rooms and fully equipped health centres; between empty stands and vibrant, media-ready stadiums."

A portion of the funds will be allocated toward stadium infrastructure upgrades, including the renovation o players' boxes, modernisation of health facilities and the technological enablement of venues to support live broadcasting.

In a groundbreaking move to incentivise competitiveness and professionalism throughout the league, the Football Association will introduce, for the first time in its history, a merit-based prize structure that rewards every club based on their final league position.

The partnership also includes a commitment to grassroots football, with Adesa Productions pledging to support the GFA’s youth development programs through media exposure. If executed well, the GPL could become a benchmark for how to blend sport, technology, and commerce.”As the new season approaches, all eyes are on the GFA and Adesa Productions to deliver on their promise of a revitalised Ghana Premier League. With cutting-edge broadcasts, innovative commercial strategies, and a focus on fan engagement, this partnership could redefine the future of Ghanaian football.
